is NER Australia?
The assessment authority, Engineers
Australia introduced NER (the National Engineering Register) in 2015. It is a

NER Engineers Australia
provides a national framework of registration for professional engineers,
engineering technologists and engineering associates across the public and

Eligibility
criteria for NER:
As an engineer, attaining and displaying

You are not required to be a member of EA
to apply for the NER Australia credential. You have to fulfill the following
criteria for this credential:
1. Have
an EA-recognized engineering qualification or a successful Engineers Australia
migration skills assessment or membership competency assessment.
2. Have
five or more years of relevant full-time equivalent engineering work experience
in the last 10 years, with a minimum of four years of full-time equivalent postgraduate
experience.
3. Fulfill
all the competencies for independent practice in your occupational category.
How
to apply for this credential:
The following are the five steps to apply
for the NER Australia credential:
1. Open
an account in the EA portal.
2. Login
and complete the online self-assessment form to rate yourself against the NER
eligibility criteria and apply for NER.
3. Obtain
2 relevant referees who can verify your recent work experience.
4. Have
the NER interview with an eligible assessor of Engineers Australia.
5. Get
your outcome notification. If you are successful, you will be automatically added
to the NER.
If an Engineers Australia member, you can
also join the NER when you apply for the CPEng status.

Non-member:
If an Engineers Australia member, you can
still apply for the NER credential. You will need the below-given documents
scanned and ready to upload:
