CIOB
Member grade:
The Chartered Membership credential comes with
many benefits, including the right to use MCIOB as a post-nominal designation.
You can also choose between the descriptor of Chartered Construction Manager
and Chartered Builder. As a Chartered Member, you will have the right to vote
and apply to become a Trustee, which will enable you to actively participate in
the management of the CIOB.
A Chartered Member also has other benefits like
access to more than 500 events every year, free CPD resources from the CIOB
Academy, a complimentary subscription to Construction Manager Magazine and
access to CIOB’s Library Information Service.
Fellow
(FCIOB):
The grade of Fellowship is the highest award
that CIOB offers. CIOB’s Fellows are amongst the most knowledgeable and
experienced professionals in the construction industry, with global recognition
for their skills and attainments throughout their careers. Moreover, the
related post-nominal, FCIOB, is highly valued and sought after. Entry to
Fellowship is focused on fulfilling a unique set of leadership competencies and
behaviours at a strategic level, showing the highest level of professional
competence.
It is equal to a Master’s degree and
benchmarked at Level 7 by ENIC. A Fellowship application is open to senior
professionals having more than five years of experience in leading an
organization, people and contributing to the industry, communities and/or
society.
Besides receiving the benefits of Chartered
Membership, attaining this grade can bring considerable additional awards,
including employment achievement recognition, promotion, higher salaries,
career progression and a broader range of job opportunities.
After retirement, the holder of a Chartered
Membership or Fellowship can apply for the Retired Grade. When accepted, they
can use new designations: Ret MCIOB for a Member and Ret FCIOB for a Fellow.
Professional
Review:
CIOB Professional Review is the

Only after passing the assessment, one can
become a Chartered Member and use the designation MCIOB.
