Pathways For Stage 2 Engineers Australia Competency Standards
Stage 2 Engineers Australia competency standards are a criterion that you must achieve to become a CPEng (Chartered Professional Engineer) in Australia. This standard shows your knowledge, skills, engineering application abilities, technical qualifications, disciplines and principles that you need to display to work individually or unaccompanied.
The
purpose of this assessment:
The Engineers Australia competency
standards are based on aspects like commitment to service,
demonstrating value at work, having an obligation to the community and
demonstrating technical proficiency. The gateway for Chartership and National
Engineering Register is the stage 2 competency standard assessment. Attaining
this status comes with the responsibility of maintaining your engineering
competency in your area of expertise.
As a Professional Engineer, you have to
deliver various competencies as per your experience. Let’s discuss the
important parts of the competencies:
·
Learning the requirements
of the consumer, stakeholder and society as a whole.
·
Focusing on expanding the
growth of economic, social and environmental aspects over a lifetime of
engineering products.
·
Dealing with other
professionals from different backgrounds.
·
Indicating that the
engineering input is fully incorporated into the overall program or project.
·
Interpreting technical
possibilities for industry, culture and government.
·
Making sure that risks,
prices and limits are fully understood about the outcomes.
·
Making sure that
non-technical and technical aspects are adequately balanced.
·
Management of risks and
maintenance of long-term viability.
·
Making sure that all
facets of a method, project or procedure are built on sound logic and basic
values.
·
Easily identifying how
emerging technologies apply to old ones.

You can also apply for Chartered status using
this arrangement. Besides that, you can join the National Engineering Register
in some cases.
Under the Engineers Australia competency
standards MRA, formal academic qualifications have to be recognized by both
organizations under the Washington, Sydney or Dublin Accords. If your academic
qualification is not acceptable under one of the accords, you may have a
competency assessment.
