How to Attain RegPM Certification

Attaining RegPM certification will allow you to have a competitive advantage, and it will also help you make giant steps towards growth in your professional career.

Australian Institute of Project Management’s RegPM certification comes with a benchmark of excellence for a project professional all over Australia.

Having known how you can benefit from this certification, let’s know how to attain it.

How to attain this certification?

We have listed below the six steps you need to go through for the certification:

1.   Join the institute:

Only those who are full Australian Institute of Project Management members have access to the RegPM program. A non-member can join as a member and apply for it at the same time. So, join the institute and apply for certification.

2.   Apply for certification:

If you are a member and don’t currently have RegPM status, you can apply for certification.

3.   Assign an assessor:

The RegPM certification requires you to go through a formal assessment of your competency and experience. The institute can allocate an assessor for you, or you can choose an approved assessor to conduct your assessment. You can view assessors by vising the official website.

4.   Complete the evaluation:

You need to answer questions and gather proof to document competence at the level you have chosen to apply for. Your completed assessment record must be provided to your assessor within a period of six months of your application date.

5.   Have an interview with your assessor:

After the assessment of your submission and having an interview with you, your evaluator will recommend the outcome of your application.

6.   Your RegPM certification is complete:

If you are successful in your interview, your name will be listed on AIPM’s online register of certification project professionals. In addition, the institute will provide you with a certification with three years of validity.

Maintenance of the certification:

For the maintenance of your certification, you need to retain membership with the Australian Institute of Project Management. Besides that, you need to take up continuing professional development (CPD), which will require the maintenance of 70 CPD points over the certification period of three years.
